Life-Changing Reconstructive Surgery Helps Victim of Domestic Violence
Dr. Travis Shaw recently performed a reconstructive surgery on a woman one year to the day after her husband shot her in the face. Through a program called Face to Face, Dr. Shaw was able to perform the life-changing surgery for free, rebuilding the area around her eye and restoring symmetry to her face.
Dr. Shaw specializes in reconstructive surgery of the head and neck, rhinosplasty and skin cancer. He obtained his BA in East Asian studies from Washington and Lee University. He spent two and a half years teaching English in Japan before pursuing graduate studies at the University of Virginia. During his second year as a medical student at the VCU Medical School, Dr. Shaw travelled with his father to Kjabe Mission Hospital in Kenya. Inspired by the needs of the many patients seen with facial deformities, he chose to specialize in otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery. Dr. Shaw completed his residency at the VCU Medical School.
Dr. Shaw is welcoming new patients of all ages for ENT consultations. Read more.
