Dr. Evans specializes in cosmetic therapies, including prescription skin care, IPL treatments, Botox, Restylane and Juvederm.
EDUCATION
Dr. Evans graduated from Tulane University, double majoring in biology and chemistry and remained there for medical school. He trained in general surgery as a resident at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he received the Tulane Medical School Teaching Award, and completed the first vascular surgical fellowship at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
EXPERIENCE
While Dr. Evans career experience is vast, one highlight includes being a consultant and advisor for the Department of Medical Affairs for Anthem Blue Cross of Virginia. Since 1999 Dr. Evans has also served as the Director of the Vascular Laboratory at Surgical Associates of Richmond. He also holds the same title at St. Francis Hospital in Midlothian, VA. Dr. Evans also serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of General and Vascular Surgery at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia.
PRACTICE
Dr. Evans joined Surgical Associates of Richmond in 1999, bringing with him outstanding leadership and experience in development of our own Vascular Lab program for carotid artery and peripheral vascular surveillance. A leader in endovascular surgery in Richmond, he has been a designated instructor for J and J International Systems in the use of the Palmaz vascular stent and has proctored surgeons in its use across the country. Dr. Evans, with several others in his group is a founding member of VeinSolutions of Richmond. The Surgical Associates office dedicated mainly to spider and varicose vein care.
Dr. Evans has been instrumental in bringing a wide range of new cosmetic therapies to the practice, including prescription skin care, IPL treatments, Botox, Restylane and Juvederm.
PERSONAL PROFILE
In his spare time Dr. Evans enjoys traveling, relaxing near the water and snow skiing with his wife Johanna. Photography is also a favorite hobby, In fact, many of Dr. Evans photographs can be seen throughout the VeinSolutions office.
