Dr. Smith specializes in colorectal cancer, colonoscopy, colon and rectal surgery.
EDUCATION
Dr. Smith received his undergraduate degree from Amherst College and his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. He completed a general surgery residency at Tulane University in New Orleans, followed by a Colon and Rectal Fellowship at the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans.
EXPERIENCE
Dr. Smith is board-certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
PRACTICE
Dr. Smith has been with Colon and Rectal Specialists since 1981. Established in 1913, Colon and Rectal Specialists is one of the oldest continually operating groups of colon and rectal surgeons in the country.
