Dr. Wortham specializes in pediatric eye care, including surgical management of strabismus in adults and children.
EDUCATION
Dr. Wortham, board certified ophthalmologist, completed his medical education at Northwestern University followed by an internship at the University of Oklahoma in Internal Medicine. He returned to Chicago for a residency in Ophthalmology followed by a Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology at the University of Toronto and Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada.
EXPERIENCE
Dr. Wortham has been in private practice in the Richmond area for nearly 20 years. He maintains a clinical faculty appointment with the Medical College of Virginia and enjoys working regularly with their Craniofacial team.
PRACTICE
Virginia Pediatric Ophthalmology Specialists (VPOS) has been a busy entity since its inception in 2002 at Stony Point. Their work encompasses all aspects of pediatric eye care, including surgical management of strabismus in adults and children, children’s glasses, and contact lenses. Fluency in Spanish and Arabic is offered in the office.
PERSONAL PROFILE
Dr. Wortham enjoys sailing, biking, photography, and whenever possible, eye mission work abroad. He feels that the VPOS is largely successful due to a dedicated, professional, and caring staff.
