Education

Dr. Boardman received her undergraduate degree cum laude from Yale University in New Haven, CT. She received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Dr. Boardman completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Magee-Womens Hospital at the University of Pittsburgh and also did a research post-doctoral fellowship at the Magee-Womens Research Institute. She completed her Gynecologic Oncology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Dr. Boardman is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and has a subspecialty certification in Gynecologic Oncology.

Cecelia H. Boardman, M.D., is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Gynecologic Oncology at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center and Dianne Harris Wright Professor of Gynecologic Oncology Research in Richmond,Virginia.

Dr. Boardman is Principle Investigator for Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG) trials at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center. 

Dr. Boardman is one of only 600 board-certified gynecologic oncologists in the country. This specialty uniquely qualifies her to perform surgery and manage all aspects of patient treatment, such as prescribing chemotherapy and radiation for gynecologic cancers.
