Education
Dr. Hamza received his MD from the Cairo University in Cairo, Egypt, followed by a residency in surgery, as well as anesthesia from the University of Arizona. He then completed a fellowship in pain management at the University of Virginia Medical School. He is board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.
Experience
In the past Dr. Hamza has been on the faculty at the University of Virginia, Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management, and was Director of Pain Management Services for Mid-Atlantic Spine Specialists.
Practice
Dr. Hamza is currently with the VCU Spine Center at Stony Point. His specialties include pain conditions of spine and non-spine origins such as neuropthies, diabetic neuropathy, vascular pain, visceral pain, pain pump and neurostimulator implants, and the development of a new analgesic.
He is a member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the American Pain Society, the American Academy of Pain Medicine and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine.
