Education
Dr. DePalma received his MD from the Medical University of South Carolina, followed by a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Ohio State University Medical Center, and a fellowship in interventional spine care at Pennsylvania Medical Center. Dr. DePalma is Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. DePalma is currently medical director of the VCU Spine Center and a member of the North American Spine Society, the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the International Spine Intervention Society and the Physiatric Association of Spine, Sport and Occupational Rehabilitation. He currently performs spinal epidurals, facet joint injections, hip and sacroiliac joint injections, medial branch blocks, radiofrequency ablation neurotomies, spinal cord stimulator trials, spinal and pelvic augmentation (vertobroplasty, sacroplasty), and diagnostic and therapeutic intradiscal procedures to diagnose and treat degenerative, bulging, or herniated discs, facet joint arthrosis, sacroilitis, hip joint arthritis, osteoporotic fractures, sciatica, nerve pain, and failed back surgery syndrome. Dr. DePalma is an investigator in numerous innovative spine research studies.
