Pranay Gupta, M.D.

Education

Dr. Gupta graduated with high honors from the Johns Hopkins University and attended the University of Maryland Medical School and Residency programs. After graduation from Residency, he was awarded a Fellowship to study corneal and refractive surgery at the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Gupta participated in special research projects on the treatments of laser vision complications and corneal disease. He has published several papers on the role of pentoxyphylline and troxerutin in retinal disease therapy.

Experience

Dr. Gupta founded his practice, Virginia Eye Specialists, PC in 2002.

Practice

Dr. Gupta specializes in cornea treatments/surgery, cataract surgery, laser vision correction, and laser therapies for glaucoma and diabetes. He is a Diplomate with the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Personal Profile

Dr. Gupta has been on several medical missions to third world countries. Dr. Gupta was an Assistant Clinical Professor at MCV/VCU in Richmond, Virginia and currently is actively involved in community health fairs, charities and screenings.   He is an active member in Phi Beta Kappa Medical Honor Society and the Virginia Society of Ophthalmology.
