Education

Dr. Tami A. Flowers attended James Madison University and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. She received her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine where she was selected for membership in the Medical Honors Society, Alpha Omega Alpha, as a result of her high achievement. She completed an internship in Internal Medicine and a three-year residency in Ophthalmology at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center.

Practice

Dr. Flowers joined Commonwealth Eye Care Associates in 2009. She practices comprehensive ophthalmology with emphasis on her skills in advanced cataract surgery, eyelid surgery, laser surgery, and treatment of cornea and external disease, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma and macular degeneration. She has additional expertise in the diagnosis and care of eye infections, eye injuries and ocular emergencies. Dr. Flowers is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Virginia Society of Ophthalmology. She also devotes her time to teaching residents in ophthalmology and is in demand as a lecturer on many topics within ophthalmology. Dr. Flowers is available to see patients in personalized consultation and on referral for medical and surgical eye care.
