Jaime L. Bohl, MD, FACS, FASCRS specializes in Colorectal Surgery.


Dr. Jaime Bohl is a fellowship trained Colon and Rectal Surgeon. She is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery, American College of Surgeons, and the Collaborative Group of the Americas on Inherited Colorectal Cancer.

She is currently an Associate Professor of Surgery, VCU School of Medicine and the Chief, Section of Colon and Rectal Surgery. She received her M.D. degree from the University of Virginia in 2003. She completed a general surgery residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Lahey Clinic.

Her clinical interests include minimally invasive surgical approaches including laparoscopy and robotics, diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy, transanal endoscopic microsurgery, and sphincter sparing rectal cancer surgery.

Her research interests include hereditary colon and rectal cancer syndromes and translational science approaches to the treatment of fecal incontinence.


Dr. Bohl specializes in Colorectal Surgery and specifically sphincter sparing surgery for rectal cancer; laparoscopic colon and rectal surgery; colon, rectal and anal cancer diagnosis and treatment; surgical management of inflammatory bowel disease; treatment of benign anal and rectal disease; and colonoscopies.
