EducationDr. Banks graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University and received her medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Georgetown University Hospital and is a board certified OBGYN. Uniquely qualified to guide patients through a rapidly changing medical landscape, she completed extensive research and a Genetics fellowship at the National Institutes of Health and is a board certified Clinical Geneticist. She continued her research and specialty training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the National Institutes of Health, graduating in 2017.
ProfileDr. Banks is married to a Navy physician and is the proud mother of three very active children. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, cake decorating, and spending quality time with family and friends.
She has received numerous awards and research support, including the Gold Humanism Honor Society, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility resident award, ASRM Corporate Member Council In-training Travel Award, and prestigious U01 Grant funding from the NIH for her collaborative research in sex chromosome aneuploidy. Her work is featured in peer-reviewed publications and has been presented at national meetings.
